Find a JaniQuest Professional:

Employees

Finding good employees can sometimes be a challenge for janitorial services. Still, there are plenty of dependable, honest people who need extra income, and this is the type of person we look for. Most of our people are part-time, and most of them have day jobs or are working their way through college. Our employees are already proving in the other areas of their lives that they have the dependability and ambition that we and our Customers need.

The first step for applicants is to fill out our 5-page application designed specifically for the janitorial industry. If we are interested in an applicant, we arrange a personal interview, and if we want to hire the applicant, we do a complete background check that includes the following:

1. Verify name, address, and phone number, social security number and in which state the social security number was issued.

2. Verify current driver's license and auto insurance.

3. A criminal records check, going out-of-state if necessary.

4. Verify all personal, work, and school references.

5. Verify that the applicant can speak, read and write in English to communicate effectively with management, clients, and co-workers.

The 1st phase of training the new hire consists of:

 1. A training class using our own in-house-produced training materials.

2. Proper non-destructive cleaning procedures for a wide variety of materials.

3. Training in ladder safety, electrical safety, and wet-floor slip prevention.

4. The importance of recycling and environmental responsibility.

5. Alarm systems and correct security procedures for a variety of situations.

6. Customer-service, courtesy, and Customer relations. How to, and how not to, interact with Customer personnel.

7. The importance of the Customer's right to privacy and secrecy in all matters.

8. Strong emphasis on our absolute intolerance for dishonesty of any kind, on or off the job.

The 2nd training phase consists of working side-by-side for a few nights with one of our crew leaders. Then, if the Customer is agreeable to it, we like to bring our new employee(s) in to meet the Facility Manager. We find that this one, 5-minute introduction does wonders to help them feel like they are part of the team; they get to meet the people they're really working for; and it helps the Manager's peace of mind because he knows who's working in the building.

The 3rd training phase is hands-on training in your facility. After that, quality-control inspections and "tune-ups" are made on a regular basis.

The end result is a cleaning professional who is totally qualified to clean your facility.
